Compassionate care for end-stage renal disease
PMG Physicians have provided outpatient dialysis care on Guam and neighboring Island since 1997 where the first free standing dialysis clinic started to care for patients with ESRD. At that time the Guam dialysis units was ranked last in the list of over 5000 dialysis clinics in the nation based on USRDS data. Several years later Guam dialysis centers received t a recognition award from CMS for best improved units. Today with almost 800 ESRD patients, all Fresenius units have raked among top 20% of all dialysis clinics in the nation with respect to quality of care, delivery of compassionate care and best clinical outcomes. We are very proud of our affiliation with Fresenius Kidney Care, the worldwide leader in the treatment of renal disease and an innovative leader in kidney disease research, with which we are managing the care of our patients. Our Physicians and nurses – some of whom have more than 25 years of specialized experience – are dedicated to supporting our patient’s independence and activity while helping them to choose the best treatment options and to make it a success.
Our clinic and Dialysis centers are state of art medical complexes but to sooth our patients needs and comfort. Located in the communities, they have a soothing environment depicting an old-world charm architecture that is both inviting and creating a sense of comfort with trust in their treatments and physicians.
Dialysis Options and Treatments
The In-Center Hemodialysis and Home Dialysis – Peritoneal Dialysis is discussed between the Nephrologist and patient and their family. The option is recommended by Nephrologist based on Patients clinical status, needs and their abilities discussed by the Nephrologist and their patients and their family. Peritoneal Home Dialysis gives many patients the freedom to continue their everyday activities. We provide education and support related to home dialysis through our affiliation with Fresenius Kideny Care Dialysis Clinics.
This longstanding partnership is seamless to patients and enables us to offer a full suite of Home Peritoneal Dialysis services, including CAPD and CCPD. Besides offering greater flexibility, these services are gentler on patients’ body than In-Center Dialysis because they’re done more frequently and at the comfort of their home.

The team takes a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to make every aspect of our care exceptional.
Dr Saied Safa, MD has served as our medical director since 1997. He has devoted his career to not only caring for patients with advanced CKD but also empowering them to make choices about their own treatment improving quality of life for every patient. He has been the pioneer of advanced dialysis care here in Guam and Pacific Islands. With five Nephrologists on board, Dr Nerves has been the longest serving Nephrologist most dedicated and compassionate to care of ESRD patients and as one the Medical Directors of Fresenius Dialysis center. In addition to our Nephrologists, our team includes two full time and one part time Physician assistant and Nurse Practitioner and one clinical specialist.
Our entire team is devoted to care that is both technically, professionally, and personally excellent and we are most proud of our team.
